I’m not simply letting my hair succumb to the ravages of ageing.

When I first underwent a series of AnteAGE® MD hair treatments at Ageless Medi-Aesthetics to counter stress-induced hair fall, I had expected the improvements to taper off towards the last treatment, but I continued to enjoy its benefits even weeks afterwards.
Each treatment takes an hour, and consists of cleaning the scalp and applying the AnteAGE® serum onto it after it has been microneedled. Learn more about the process here.
I was supposed to have gone for the last of five treatments sometime in April this year, but had to hold it off due to Circuit Breaker.
Although the Circuit Breaker period has ended, and I have since gone for my last treatment in July, like many of us, I continue to experience a constant low-key stress that psychologists call pandemic stress. Pandemic stress is defined by the fear, anxiety, isolation, or helplessness, which arises from having to deal with the impact of a highly contagious disease such as COVID-19 on livelihoods and social ties.
As a business we are fortunate that we are not as severely affected as those working in or for the aviation, tourism, or retail industries.
Although events had been postponed and/ or reduced in scale, and our medical aesthetics clients opted to pause, if not reorganise ongoing campaigns, our medical therapeutics portfolio has remained stable and in fact, appeared to grow by a small margin in the last quarter. However, there is still the pressure of not only keeping all my team mates in Singapore and Malaysia duly employed, but adapting to working from home through digital and online implements instead of face to face.
I had some respite from this when my permit to travel to Kuala Lumpur on the Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) was approved in September and I was able to spend two weeks there to meet with my colleagues, attend to administrative matters, and oversee a couple of projects.
In spite of the ongoing anxiety, my hair fall in this period had normalized. When I visited my hairdresser for my regular trim in early June and again in September, she commented that my hair was not as stringy and flat as it used to be at that length.
The hair around my hairline and temples looks fuller. My fine hair does not frizz easily these days which means my curls keep their shape no matter how long they get, something I attribute to thicker and stronger individual hair shafts.

I have been so pleased with the results that I decided to pay for another five sessions over the next year and it has now become part of my beauty routine just like my filler, botulinum toxin and Rejuran treatments!
